Your ultimate guide to Orlando
For most people, Orlando means mouse ears and kiddie rides, with maybe a side trip to a nice beach. But the truth is this destination is much more than that, and it's quickly being recognized as a dynamic and exciting place to be. Whether you're looking for the family-friendly fun of Lake Buena Vista and the theme parks or the culture and nightlife of Downtown Orlando, this is one place where you can find what you want, when you want it.

Most of the Orlando theme parks are in the same general area. The Walt Disney World Resort is by far the largest, covering 25,000 acres of rides, stores, hotels, and more. The Sea World resort area     has expanded to three parks—the original Sea World, Aquatica waterpark, and Discovery Cove. Universal Orlando is the other corner of the theme park triangle, where thrill rides rule the day. Smaller attractions also abound, including great dinner theater experiences, zoos, even massive mini golf complexes! You’ll never be bored in Orlando.

If shopping is your passion, your credit cards will get the workout of a lifetime in Orlando. The Millennium Mall is a high-end shopper’s dream, with designer boutiques and the biggest names in department stores, all under one roof. The area has several other malls as well, including outlet centers for big-name bargains. Downtown Disney and CityWalk Orlando is the place for character items, theme park souvenirs, and even the occasional artsy find.

Get away from the theme parks and drive east on Interstate 4 (the main highway for getting around Orlando) to downtown Orlando, Thornton Park, and Winter Park. These areas are where it’s at for antiquing, up and coming restaurants, art galleries, and some of the finest nightlife under the stars. Dance the night away or lounge it up with a martini in hand. Orlando has it all.
